Pitchers Brett Myers, Kyle Kendrick, and Antonio Bastardo have made the cut to the final roster. But it's closing time for Eric Bruntlett and Clay Condrey. Taylor Walker also did not make the playoff roster.
The obvious surprise that Uncle Charlie pulled on this one is Bastardo, but it does give the Phillies a fourth lefty with Cliff Lee, J.A. Happ, and Cole Hamels. Miguel Cairo made it over Bruntlett who has struggled with his fielding. The injury plagued Condrey has seen little playing time as of late due to those injuries. Over his career, lefthanded hitters have hit over .300 off of Condrey.
